How I helped Flourish & Flounce cut shipping collateral costs by 80%
In the 1.5+ years I’ve been designing for Flourish & Flounce, I’ve been able to bring creative ideas to a very receptive owner. One of my more recent ideas was to implement the use of QR codes in her shipping collateral.
To give some context, Flourish & Flounce is a business that specializes in luxury tablescapes and home decor. Subscribers to the business receive a tablescape or centerpiece (or both) every season, carefully curated to their style. Every season, there are two tablescape designs to choose from, and two centerpiece designs.
One of the first freelance projects I completed for Flourish & Flounce was postcards to be shipped with the centerpieces and tablescapes, with instructions on how to assemble the items.
Here’s what they looked like:
These postcards helped customers to put together their tablescapes and centerpieces, but they were costly to produce. Having four new postcards designed and printed every season was simply not cost efficient. Because of this, I came up with the idea of designing one postcard to be used for all tablescapes and centerpieces year round. It would include a QR code as well as a direct link for those who are unable to use QR codes. Both the QR code and direct link takes customers to a page on Flourish & Flounce’s website that contains directions for all current tablescapes and centerpieces.
Here’s what the new postcards looked like:
These new QR code postcards cut yearly shipping collateral costs by an estimated 80%. Could a solution like this help your business to be more efficient?
